Use our guide to learn which trials are right for you!

Geographically located between the great hospital complexes of Minneapolis and Seattle, the Billings Clinic Research Center is uniquely centered in Montana to be able to perform clinical research throughout this region of the country. Our research center is the largest hospital-based clinical research unit for 600 miles with over 22,000 square feet.

The Billings Clinic Research Center is located on the campus of Billings Clinic in a community of over 100,000 people. Our organization is led by Larry A. Severa, M.D. who is a primary care physician at Billings Clinic and over seven years of experience in clinical research. Working with a number of sub investigators/specialists from Billings Clinic has allowed our site to provide both high quality clinical research and patient referrals for over 20 years. In 2009, Billings Clinic had over 873,659 patient encounters, allowing our site the ability to recruit for a variety of studies in many therapeutic areas.

The Billings Clinic Research Center is involved in phase I, II, III, and IV clinical trials. We are a multi-faceted research facility with over 20 years of experience. Since our inception in 1988, we have worked with over 75 pharmaceutical companies both large and small and performed over 220 clinical research studies involving over 5,000 volunteer subjects.

DEXA TESTING: Over 3,400 women a year are screened at our facility or with our rural mobile outreach DEXA covering this large geographic area of the country.

BASIC RESEARCH: With our analytical laboratory and more than $1 million in state-of-the art equipment, we are capable of setting up studies to measure drugs and metabolites.

RESEARCH KITCHEN: The Research Center's research kitchen consists of a 1,500 square foot commercial kitchen fully-equipped to conduct nutraceutical-based studies designed to prepare meals with safety, accuracy and consistency in order to produce valid scientific results.

INDUSTRY CONTACTS: Our long-term relationships with members of the pharmaceutical industry ensure a continual influx of new studies that we are able to match to our database of patients. This results in a statistically high-retention rate for many of our studies.

QUALITY PERFORMANCE: At our core is a dedicated staff of 25 employees, who are well-trained and capable of demonstrating quality and success through performance very day.

Billings Clinic Research Center professionally helps to coordinate all details associated with conducting Phase I-IV clinical trials.
