Health Research Institute

With over 80,000 clinical trials to lay claim to, Health Research Institute (HRI) in Oklahoma City is dedicated to searching for new cures, devices and therapies for illnesses and disorders. HRI specializes in rheumatology, orthopedics and pain management, but conducts thousands of trials on other areas of medicine, as it is a multi-specialty center for medical research.

HRI is associated with the Oklahoma Foundation for Orthopedic Health. Its trials span a wide range of diseases and disorders of all phases and in different age groups, including 19 healthy children studies, 300 amyloidosis trials, 6,231 asthma trials, 8,186 leukemia studies, 826 psoriatic arthritis trials, 14 weight loss studies, 10,069 heart failure trials and 275 hypercalcemia studies. HRI conducts 25 to 30 clinical trials each year with the highest quality research.

On site of the clinical trials is a specialty hospital with an emergency room and an outpatient surgery center. The trial site is fully equipped with an MRI, X-ray, oxygen, physical therapy sessions, electrocardiograms, crash cart, eight bed hospital, infusion capabilities, CLIA/CAP certified lab with a centrifuge, wireless internet connection, phlebotomy, locked and temperature-monitored drug room and remote data entry.

COR Clinical Research

COR Clinical Research in Oklahoma City is devoted to finding cures and therapies for diseases and conditions through clinical trial studies. Careful consideration of each clinical trial applicant is made before enrollment in trial studies, as COR holds patients’ safety and health to the highest degree of importance. Phases I through IV of each study conducted is regulated by the protocols of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and an investigation review board.

Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation

Oklahoma City’s Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF) conducts many clinical trial studies to understand and discover the side effects of various therapies and drugs as well as how illnesses are contracted. It currently researches ways to better make a diagnosis of lupus, diabetes, cancer, heart disease, brain damage, children’s diseases and Alzheimer’s disease.

OMRF strives to achieve its research with utmost kindness and compassion for its clinical trial participants. OMRF was named one of the nine Autoimmunity Centers of Excellence in 2009. It was given $57 million in grants to study and create new drugs and treatments for autoimmune diseases. With this money, Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation also focuses on studying “orphan diseases” that are too rare in number of diagnoses for other clinical trial establishments to justify the necessary expenses for their research.

Lynn Health Science Institute

The Lynn Health Science Institute (LHSI) in Oklahoma City focuses on a wide range of diseases and conditions on which to perform clinical trials, such as heartburn, cystic fibrosis and women’s health. LHSI may conduct 30 clinical trials at one time. Its clinical trial studies involve a diverse patient population to better attain accurate data about diseases and medical treatments.
