Leah M. Schmidt, D.O., CPI - Medical Director
Dr. Schmidt has more than a decade of experience with Phase II' IV clinical research studies. She has acted as Principal Investigator for more than 150 clinical studies for leading pharmaceutical companies. She has worked in the clinical research industry for over 10 years and has maintained quality data by initiating her own quality assurance program. She has established an excellent reputation within the pharmaceutical research industry. Dr. Schmidt received her certification as a Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) in April 2006.

Dr. Schmidt has a doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine from the University of Health Sciences in Kansas City, MO and a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry from Rockhurst College, Kansas City, MO. She began practicing in 1984 and has been in Tucson since 1987. She is affiliated with the American Osteopathic Association. As a family practitioner her special interests include rheumatology, women's health and diabetes.

Dale M. Levinsky, M.D. - Associate Medical Director
Dr. Levinsky has served as a Principal Investigator and Sub-Investigator for 6 years. She has almost 15 years of clinical experience. She has practiced in Tucson since 2001. Prior to this she practiced in Yucca Valley, California and at Scripps Clinic in San Diego, California. She has special interests in women's health, dermatology and behavior issues.

Dr. Levinsky has a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology from the University of Arizona in Tucson. She also received her Medical Degree at the University of Arizona. She completed her residency in Family Practice and Community Medicine in Merced, California. She is board certified in family medicine and is an active member of the American Academy of Family Practice.

Arnold Adriaanse - CEO
Arnold Adriaanse has more than 25 years of experience developing and successfully managing global high tech sales, marketing, professional services, and product organizations. He has worked for companies such as Oracle Corporation, Aspect Communications, Novell Inc. and eGain Communications. Mr. Adriaanse's career also includes key management positions at Cap/Gemini and AE/Lanier. He has lived and worked in Europe and the United States and conducted business in over 20 countries throughout the world. He is a co-founder and CEO of Genova Clinical Research in Tucson, AZ. A Dutch native, he is a graduate of Eerde International College in the Netherlands with a degree in Economics

Kenneth W. Wilkins' Senior Site Director
Mr. Wilkins has 36 years of experience in the medical field and more than 12 years of experience with Phase II' IV clinical research studies. He has been involved with more than 75 clinical research studies for leading pharmaceutical companies as a coordinator, site director and clinical research associate.

Mr. Wilkins received his medical training as a Hospital Corpsman for 25 years in the United States Navy. He received his education and certification as an Independent Duty Hospital Corpsman through George Washington University. Mr. Wilkins is an active member of the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP).

Cindy Stein' Business Development Mgr.
Mrs. Stein has over 10 years in the clinical trial industry in the areas of regulatory administration and business development. Her years of experience in the regulatory area have resulted in many key business relationships, aiding to her effectiveness in business development. Mrs. Stein's communication skills and attention to detail have gained her an excellent reputation with personnel in the pharmaceutical industry. Her main objectives are to identify new clinical trial opportunities and promote the research capabilities of Genova Clinical Research for the consideration of site selection.

Stacey Redmond' Regulatory Administrator
Ms. Redmond has been working in the field of clinical research for more than 15 years within the areas of general medicine, gastrointestinal medicine, oncology, neurology, women's health, and maternal-fetal medicine. Through her experience as a Clinical Research Coordinator, she has become skilled in the many facets of clinical trials. This includes the development of data collection instruments, data management to facilitate statistical analyses; communication with industry organizations such as National Institute of Health, Arizona Disease Control Research Commission, National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, sponsors and regulatory document preparation. Additionally, Ms. Redmond's experience includes working with Institutional Review Boards of both academic and private hospital industries.

Christina Bohard, MA' Certified Clinical Research Coordinator
Christina Bohard has been a Certified Clinical Research Coordinator through the Association of Clinical Research Professionals for the past 4 years. Prior to that, she received her medical assistants certificate through Tucson College and worked for many local doctors in the areas of family care, hand and plastic surgery, wound care, and podiatry. Ms. Bohard has received extensive internal training as a Certified Clinical Research Coordinator and her experience in clinical trials include hypertension, high cholesterol, diabetes, memory, dermatology, OAB, and several other indications since joining Genova Clinical Research, Inc.

Ruben Andrade' Certified Clinical Research Coordinator
Mr. Andrade has 3 years experience as a Clinical Research Coordinator and has been involved with over 20 clinical trials in phases II-IV. Ruben also has over 19 years of experience in the medical field working in 2 major Clinical Laboratories. His experience is wide ranged from specimen testing, phlebotomy, specimen processing to Laboratory manager. Over the past 19 years he has worked collaterally with numerous research organizations in the proper collection, processing, storage and shipping of specimens.

Mr. Andrade received certification as a Clinical Research Coordinator in 2009 as well as certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician in 1986. He received additional training while serving in the United States Navy.

Rachel Gilbert, BS' Certified Clinical Research Coordinator
Ms. Gilbert has more than 2 years of experience as a Clinical Research Coordinator and is involved in more than 20 Phase II and III clinical trials. Ms. Gilbert received her bachelor's degree in bioengineering with a molecular and cellular emphasis in 2004 from Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. Prior to this she interned in the biochemistry department at the University of Arizona for a year.

Barbara Nunez, MA' Clinical Research Coordinator
Ms. Nunez has worked in the medical field for over 8 years and in the clinical trials industry for over 6 years. She has worked on phase II, III, and IV research studies as a clinical research coordinator, research assistant and recruitment specialist. Mrs. Nunez received certification as a Medical assistant in July 2001. She has received training as a Clinical Research Coordinator and has successfully completed several clinical trials at Genova.

Eliza Larson, CNA' Clinical Research Coordinator
Eliza Larson received her BA in psychology with a minor in Art Therapy at the University of Arizona. She also received her Nursing Education at City College of San Francisco in 2006. Before joining Genova, Eliza provided care for individuals with disabilities, aiding in developmental growth, productivity and independent living. She brings years of experience from the nursing and medical field as well as public relations.


With a population of over 1,000,000 people in Tucson and the surrounding areas, the demographics are approximately 65% Caucasian, 30% Hispanic, 3% African American, and 2% Asian or Pacific Islander. There are almost a dozen retirement and older adult communities in the county.

Genova provides its services from a strategically chosen research site on the northwest side of Tucson, across from Northwest Medical Center and other medical facilities. These include doctor's offices, surgery centers, sleep lab, laboratories, x-ray facilities, emergency room, physical therapy and rehabilitation programs. Our center has 8 exam rooms, staff offices, a well equipped laboratory with - 20 degree freezer, ECG machines, two secured rooms for study medications with double locked storage and a refrigerator in each room, dry ice capabilities, a comfortable waiting room and reception area, and three private offices with data connections for monitors.
