Primary Physicians Research (“PPR”) is an established full service clinical research company focusing on outpatient Phase II - IV clinical trials across multiple therapeutic areas. The company was founded in 1982 by Mark M. Blatter, MD and Keith S. Reisinger, MD, MPH and was formerly known as Pittsburgh Pediatric Research. PPR currently has over 85 community based physician investigators in more than 16 sites. PPR maintains complete administrative functions, provides all necessary protocol and regulatory functions, data management, total quality assurance, and training to provide the full array of clinical services to sponsors and clinical research organizations. Additionally, PPR operates its own sites, employs physicians, nurses, and other clinical professionals. We are not an SMO.

PPR has long-standing relationships with industry sponsors that include many of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world. We provide our clinical services across multiple therapeutic areas, and to a wide range of participants from newborns to elderly. To date, PPR has participated in over 660 clinical trials averaging greater than 100 participants in its vaccine trials and averaging greater than 25 participants in its pharmacology trials. PPR has retained 96% of its participants in that time, and in just the past year alone, PPR has overenrolled in more than 30% of studies.

PPR also has over 85 Board Certified Physician Investigators at its community based sites with specialties in Pediatrics, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Ob/Gyn, Allergy/ Immunology, Endocrinology, and Oncology.

PPR normally manages 15 to 20 studies concurrently. This gives our investigators, many who have been with PPR for ten or more years, extensive and consistent clinical research experience. Additionally, PPR continues to conduct trials for the National Institutes of Health (“NIH”). Both PPR and our physicians have gained a vast amount of experience with NIH over the years.

Clinical Trial Directors Lynn Regina, RN, CCRC and Carol Miller, LPN, CCRC have 15 and 18 years experience respectively in clinical trial research. PPR's Business Development team has been extremely successful in building PPR's experience and diversity. Farrah Holder and Corry Knuth can be reached at PPR in order to discuss opportunities. Department Supervisors including Quality Assurance, Site Management, Project Management, Lead Coordinators and Data Assistants average 3 to 10 years experience in research. PPR employees are active with the local and national operations of the ACRP.

Patients are drawn from the metropolitan Pittsburgh and Tri-State area of approximately 3.5 million. Our community based physician sites enable us to utilize large populations of subjects that have established patient physician relationships. This provides non-transitory quality subject populations from diverse demographic and socioeconomic backgrounds. Of particular interest to many of our sponsors is our large database of pediatric subjects, many of whom are now participating in follow-up studies as adolescents or adults.

PPR's corporate location is easily reached by car and within a 20-minute drive from the Pittsburgh International Airport. The corporate office houses a centralized information system and database as well as the business and trial management staff. This includes our Medical Directors, Clinical Trial Directors, Management Services, Contracting Managers, Project Managers, Quality Assurance, Regulatory, Human Resources, Data Assistants, Lead Coordinators, and an onsite Clinic. Sponsor monitors are provided with an adequate space and secure wireless internet at PPR's corporate location. They are also provided with access to a copier, fax, and all electronic data/diaries. Here they also have the ability to meet with Study Managers, Project Managers, Data Assistants, and Directors to ensure the integrity of the research process and data.

Aside from the corporate location PPR operates with 16 independent study sites located throughout the Tri-State area. These sites are equipped with a Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) dedicated exclusively to research. The CRCs also work alongside PPR's recruitment specialist to ensure enrollment goals are met and/or exceeded. Such focus, dedication, and teamwork is key to meeting expectations and delivering quality research.

PPR has also opened its own stand alone multi-specialty Hub facility. This facility is resident within a sizable medical building and staffed with an Office Manager, Quality Assurance Representative, Data Assistant, and Nurse Practitioner. This facility has enabled PPR to greatly expand its research and therapeutic offering. Both PPR's Hub and Corporate Office are equipped with back-up generators to ensure Total Quality Control.
