Bluestone Center for Clinical Research is an 8,585 square-foot research facility dedicated entirely to the development, implementation, performance, and analysis of clinical research.

The center conducts phase I - IV, pharmaceutical, biotech, cosmetic, device, medical, and oral health/dental studies, accommodating both out-patient and over-night studies. The Bluestone Center for Clinical Research is located at New York University in the heart of Manhattan, New York City.

Bluestone Goals and Mission

  • Impact health globally through clinical research.
  • Conduct research that generates and applies biomedical, behavioral, and clinical knowledge and technology to understand health and disease.
  • To use advanced methods and resources to deliver health care services to participants ensuring the highest level and quality of clinical research available.

The Bluestone Center for Clinical Research has been conducting clinical trials in multiple-specialties in the healthcare field since 2002. Bluestone helps companies take their drugs, biologics, and medical device products from the bench to the marketplace. Bluestone has successfully completed industry-sponsored drug and device clinical trials in all phases I-IV.

Bluestone is recognized for quality completion of studies in different areas including:

  • Rx Pharmaceuticals
  • OTC Pharmaceuticals
  • Medical therapeutic areas
  • Dental therapeutic areas
  • Nursing areas of research

Bluestone Investigators are carefully selected from the NYU scientific community based on their areas of expertise for the clinical trials and research experience. The principal investigators and sub-investigators have all been trained in “human subjects” protection and Good Clinical Practice in the research setting.

Bluestone administration has a Project Management Team who works together in order to combine the necessary knowledge to deliver high quality services to investigators, pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients during all aspects of research studies and drug/device development.

Bluestone Clinical Research Coordinators (CRCs) work in a team environment under the direction of Principal Investigators. Their responsibilities include: recruiting support, IRB submissions, screening and enrolling clinical study participants; arranging follow-up visits; maintaining and dispensing drug and other study supplies; completing and ensuring the accuracy of case report forms and regulatory documents; and ensuring the adherence to Good Clinical Practice guidelines.

The Bluestone Center for Clinical Research has access to all populations as its location is convenient to New York's multiethnic populations and neighboring health care institutions.

A vast array of recruitment techniques are used at Bluestone (all IRB-approved). Recruitment materials include written flyers, brochures, pamphlets, newspaper ads, electronic bulletin board notices, web-based materials, e-mail messages, letters to referring practitioners, radio advertisements and television advertisements.
