With the release of new treatment guidelines, high cholesterol is a very hot topic right now. This is a common condition which affects more than 70 million adults in this country alone. During a high cholesterol clinical trial at the Texas A&M University AgriLife Extension Service discovered something shocking in participants who ate at least one half a raw onion each day. These participants had a 30 percent boost in their HDL cholesterol levels. There are also several other benefits to digging into a raw onion, including:
