The Mexican Institute of Clinical Research is an institution fully dedicated to conduct clinical research in Mexico covering most therapeutic areas, with an affiliation with major medical centers from the public and private sector. We are served by central IRB that independently meet every other week to review and approve submitted protocols. IMIC also provide the service of protocol submission before the local Ministry of Health in order to conduct the trial in Mexico under the local legislations.

IMIC clinical research activities are performed under the strict guidelines of the GCP-ICH, local regulations and sponsor directives. We have created an infrastructure in order to observe these guidelines by establishing dedicated supporting groups that will assist the study teams and the protocol to be in compliance. The dedicated groups are Telemarketing department that assist the investigators design subject recruitment strategies; Project Management to assist in the planning of the study logistics; Quality Assurance that under the quality control process assist the research teams be in compliance. In addition IMIC has a pharmacy and laboratory that helps maintain the control of the study drug inventories and perform the study specimen collection procedures respectively.

IMIC has been in operations since March of 2000 conducting clinical research from Phase I - IV. IMIC has full time trained study coordinators with background in medical science form physicians, biologist, psychologists, and nutritionist. All study personnel are trained under the regulatory discipline of the ICH, GCP and local regulations.

IMIC has among the investigators' experience an investigator network that allows us to select the investigator in any of the therapeutic areas required for the conduction of the study either in-house or with any of the affiliate medical institutions. The network includes trained investigators within the private and or public institutions where they are currently practice and where the study is conducted.

Adolfo Dorenbaum, BSBA - Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Dorenbaum obtained his BSBA from Boston University, Boston, MA. He has spent many years as a consultant setting up new business in Mexico City; with extensive experience in financial management. He has participated in the public administration privatization process, instrumental for the modernization of Mexican economy. At present, he is responsible for IMIC's contracts and financial-related activities.

Gina Gorodezky, MD - Medical Director
Dr. Gorodezky obtained her Medical Doctor degree from the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico. Was trained at M.D. Anderson Research Cancer Center as a Hemato/oncologist. She has worked at the Cancer Institute in Mexico City and at the Mexican Cardiology Institute. She has participated in multiple clinical research studies in Mexico, USA., United Kingdom and European Union.

Laura Gonzalez, MS - Director of Clinical Operations
Ms. Gonzalez-Rossano is a Chemist with a Master's Degree in Science. She currently working as a Project Manager on study protocols conducted with affiliated hospitals in Mexico. Her duties are to assist and manage set up trials with hospitals that IMIC contracted, and to maintain compliance with study protocol procedures.

Marc D. Russo, MCSE - Business Development & Marketing / CTO
Mr. Russo is an experienced entrepreneur, with a background of business set-up, organization, and coordination in diverse commercial ambiences. He entered the Clinical Research environment through one of his areas of expertise, computer consulting, and rapidly joined IMIC's marketing and representation area.

Angel Sanchez - Director of Quality Assurance
Mr. Sanchez is a graduate from the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN) with a Bachelors degree in Biology and degree on Chemist Bacteriologist and Parasitologist. Mr. Sanchez has more than seven years of experience in many of the areas of the pharmaceutical industry and clinical research to include coordination and project management of clinical trials from Phase I-III. He is presently responsible for the development of quality systems at IMIC to include the quality plans and the internal quality controls required by IMIC on the development of study protocols.

Jorge Luis Childres Flores, MD - Project Manager
Dr. Childres Flores graduated from the National Polytechnic Institute in Mexico City and who has previously worked in the pharmaceutical industry as a clinical monitor and products dossier registrations. Currently is the Project or Site Manager coordinating clinical trials activities in Mexico.

Alissia Lomas - Director of Telemarketing
Ms. Lomas has a degree in Marketing from the Universidad Tecnologica de Mexico (UNITEC). She joined IMIC at the beginning of 2002 with long experience in developing marketing plans. Presently she is the responsible of the development and implementation of patient recruitment strategies for most study protocols. Also, she manages the Central Call Center for IMIC where all patients interested in participate in study protocols are registered.


Mexico City has a population of approximately 25 million people, most under middle age and within one hour of our site or any of our affiliated institutions. From our previous clinical research experience, IMIC has created a patient database with more than 15,000 patients that have been recruited via news paper or physician referrals.

IMIC is located in Mexico City near the downtown area with easy access to patients and visitors via subway or any other kind of transportation. Our facility consists of 13,000 SF of space with 10 equipped medical offices, pharmacy, laboratory, central file, and monitoring office that are integrated to facilitate the conduction of the trial. IMIC has also integrated a computer and telephone system that facilitate the communication with our clients and the industry in cases such as IVRS for patient randomization and the use of electronic CRF.
